Survivor Spring Break

The goal of the program was to promote a safe spring break through responsible alcohol drinking, using a designated driver, practice safe sex, promote activities that did not include alcohol or sex and awareness of sexual assault/rape was also highlighted.

The peer educators made 700 contacts with students throughout the week by serving 400 mocktails with alcohol stats on cups, 300 slices of pizzas were served and having students signed almost 300 pledges to not drink and drive during the break. Also, there were 20 alcohol stats on stakes on the forum lawn displayed and 200 survivor kits were distributed that had a survivor information booklet on safer spring break tips, chapstick, Tylenol, condoms, lubes and a MADD ribbon. Many students recognized the importance of responsible drinking and using a designated driver.
